![]() ![]() Normally customers don’t just open RDP to the world (if you do you’re just asking for trouble), so I’m normally given VPN credentials or a Cisco IPsec profile to use. Let me explain why.įirst off, it obviously manages RDP connections, and lets you do all of the typical organizational stuff like putting them into folders for different companies and stuff like that… but it goes a step further. Anyhow… this RDP manager from Devolutions is PERFECT for what I do. Managing the connection information for a bunch of customers is just beyond the capability of my brain… which works great for customer who are concerned about security because it only takes about 2 days and I have mentally purged their passwords. ![]() Read More.As part of my day job I spend a bunch of time getting in and out of customer networks to monitor and fix things. I'd love to see them work more Azure/Graph API into the product. The native ftp/ftps/sftp tool is lame, but the FileZilla integration works great. Negative: Without reading the documentation, people will only use about 10% of the app's true capabilities. Rich API so we can sync to and from our CMDB and other tools.Įver increasing features making the product more valuable. Positive: Multi-remote apps (RDP, VNC, Powershell) in one multi-tabbed interface. It's rare that InfoSec and IT agree on anything, but Remote Desktop Manager is one of those tools that everyone will like when they start to use it. Our information security team liked it because it allowed for MFA login protection, logging, session recording, and password aging reports. We liked it because it allowed us to share information quickly and easily. We chose Remote Desktop Manager for both its features and its affordability. We needed a solution that allowed multi-user access, a centralized database so everyone had consistent data and role-based access control with logs. Summary: Working in a large environment with many different IT groups using different tools, we were constantly struggling with keeping passwords in sync, lack of documentation, and tool sprawl. ![]()
